The area was not always covered with palm trees this happened via an accident and is thanks to a Spanish ship ''Providencia'' being grounded not far from the coast carrying coconuts on board that made their way to the shore, the seeds of the future trees, planted by locals resulting in a mini forest of Palm trees and its name today, this happened during the 19th century.
